Trevor and Dianne Ronson at Ronson Photography in Ulverston are currently seeking models for a major branding exercise for their photography business.

We are looking for babies, children, teenagers, families and couples to participate in portrait and lifestyle photo shoots. We are also looking out for expectant mums and their partners to take part in a “bumps and babies” series of shoots. In addition, if you are looking for a photo shoot to supplement images from your wedding day or are interested in dressing up for a day to take part in a directed wedding shoot then please get in touch.

There is no charge for the photo shoot (normally £90) and the whole experience lasts around three hours. You will also receive three 10” x 8” prints of your choice from the day. In addition you will be entitled to a 20% discount on framed prints, canvas wraps, albums and other items from our product range. All we ask is that you allow us to use images from the photo shoot either on our web site or in marketing literature for our business.

Hannah and Ryan

annah and Ryan are a lovely young couple who are expecting their first baby in the very near future. Dianne met up with them recently to photograph what is the second in a series of three photo shoots. The first two shoots are during Hannahs pregnancy and the third shoot will take place shortly after the very happy event when the baby is born. Its hard to believe in the current beautiful dry and sunny weather that when Dianne went along to complete this second series of shots it was a fairly wet and dark day. To work only with the natural light was a real challenge and thankfully good use was made of a monopod. Bumps and Babies Photo Shoot Service Now Available

As previously announced we are now able to offer a new "Bumps and Babies" photo shoot package. Dianne is the driving force behind the Bumps and Babies photo shoots and shown here are some of the images she shot last week.

Packages are stuctured so that a series of shoots will take place during the pregnancy and after the happy event of the baby's arrival. This is designed to give a series of images that can then be displayed in an album with a story theme running through it or images can be reproduced individualy as framed prints.

The cost of the series of photo shoots starts at £160 with the choice of albums and framed prints available for purchase after the final viewing of the iamges.

Source Fashion Group Shoot

Back on the 26th June this year I took part in a photo shoot for the Source Fashion Group. The new Source Book has now been published as a result of the shoot. The shoot took place on an active airfield at North Weald Bassett in Essex. The airfield is also an ex World War 2 airfield and is steeped in history. As well as being a superb visitor attraction a tremendous amount of conservation work also goes on at the park. Harvey's Christening

Today I spent an extremely enjoyable few hours photographing Harvey's christening in the company of his parents Paul and Amy along with grandparents, godparents and many many other relatives and friends.

The service was held at St Mary's church in Dalton-In-Furness. The church itself looked amazing with a spectacular display of Christmas trees as part of the Christmas tree festival. Well done to all concerned.

For two excellent days we have been in the company of photographer Stuart Cooper from Hampshire. Stuart was running a seminar on the "Digital Wedding" at the Annabel Williams studio in Staveley, Cumbria. As usual any seminar attended at Annabel Williams never fails to impress. Stuart is a very experienced wedding photographer and was extremely generous in passing on his knowledge and experience. Thanks to Stuart and also to Ali at Annabel Williams for looking after us. Thanks also to Katy and Charlie for being such willing models on the day.

Today we spent the day at Holker Hall in Cumbria. The gardens and grounds are an excellent setting for a family photo shoot and also a good day out. The Courtyard Cafe is recommended and the coconut slice is to die for.

Grace was the star of the day along with supporting roles from Mum and Dad alias Charlotte and Domonic. Grace played happily all day and it was a case of allowing her to play and take the shots along the way. The only thing that could have derailed the day was when a certain wicked parent (who shall remain nameless) removed young Grace from the see-saw to allow someone else to have a go.

26th June 2009: North Weald Airfield, North Weald Bassett

Shooting at North Weald Airfirled all day today. The shoot was for Tango Group International to highlight their latest collection. The location was superb as North Weald is a very active airfield and thanks to all the owners, pilots and mechanics for being so patient. Also special thanks to Karolina and Simon from Source along with the rest of the team. In addition, thanks also to the models, hair and make up and anyone I may have missed (sorry). A long drive from Cumbria but a very worthwhile trip.

Barbon Hill Climb

The second of the annual hill climbs held in the grounds of Barbon Manor, Cumbria. Unlike May when the weather caused an early finish, this time the weather just got better and better. The event was extremely well organised by the Westmorland Motor Club and a good day out was had by all. Special thanks from myself to Bob Milloy for organising a photography pass. I am putting together a CD of images for the club by way of a thank you. In the very near future there will be a gallery link from my home page to images taken on the day with the option to purchase individual images. Recommended day out.

Walking in the Lake District

16th May 2009:

A good friend came to visit this weekend and we headed out for a walk up Crinkle Crags and Bowfell from Great Langdale. Excellent walk on a day when the weather threw all the seasons at us several times. We ended up walking just a little under 13 miles, the highest point we reached was at 2,923 feet (sorry no metres for me) and the total amount of climbing we managed was 4,072 feet. I didn't have a problem sleeping afterwards. Got some good photos and picked up a booking for a wedding in Poland next year.

Today saw the first of this years hill climbs held in the grounds of Barbon Manor near Kirkby Lonsdale. Always a good day out with opportunities for some good action shots. The shot seen here was taken moments before the heavens opened and we all got a good soaking. The event is organised by the Westmorland Motor Club. The next hill climb event for cars at Barbon is 13th June and for bikes 1st August.

Gold Award from the SWPP

April 2009:

I am a member of the Society of Wedding and Portrait Photographers (SWPP). In their monthly competition for members I achieved a gold award in the pictorial category. The winning photograph seen here was taken in Grizedale Forest, in the Lake District. I had been at the forest with my son and brother-in-law for the annual stages rally held in November. The image was captured towards the end of the day with the sun sinking and producing an amazing golden light through the mist.

20th April 2009:

I was invited along to the Radio Cumbria studios in Carlisle today to be interviewed live on air by Liz Rhodes the morning show presenter. This all came about after the feature on me in Cumbria Life was seen by Liz. We chatted on air about my landscape photography and tips I could give to people to take decent landscape images. The morning was a fantastic experience and Liz along with her producer Andrew Carter went out of their way to make me feel welcome and guided me through the whole process. Thanks to you both if you are reading this. So far I have not found my new celebrity status difficult to deal with (chance would be a fine thing).

I was contacted recently by Mary Ingham the Commisioning Editor for the monthly magazine Cumbria Life to see if I was interested in having a portfolio article of my work published in the April edition. Needless to say I said yes and was subsequently interviewed by Mary to provide the text to go with the photographs I had submitted. The article covered five pages with thirteen of my photographs printed in it. Good experience and a great article, thanks Mary and Cumbria Life.

Today I was out with a great fun loving couple, Cheryl and Anthony for an engagement/pre-wedding shoot. We were so lucky with the weather and enjoyed some fantastic spring sun and warmth. After shooting locally around their home we headed up to Coniston Water in the Lake District with a few stop offs on the way there and back. They are a fantastic couple to work with and I look forward to photographing them again.

Great fun photographing Grace today. The picture taking was a lot easier than keeping up with her. In these circumstances with very young children the best thing is to let them play and do their thing. I followed Grace around watching her play and grabbing the images as they happened.

Attended my second workshop at the Annabel Williams studio in Staveley. This time the subject was weddings. More valuable sound business advice from the CPT team of Catherine Connor and Jane Breakell. The pre-wedding and wedding photo shoots were led by John Denton of Denton Photography. A very knowledgeable photographer who went out of his way to pass on knowledge, advice and experiences.

As for the weather, it snowed, then it snowed and then it started snowing.

Attended a three day workshop "Realise Your Potential" at the Annabel Williams - Contemporary Photographic Training (CPT) studio at Staveley in Cumbria. A very intense three days with some top class trainers. In addition to the excellent CPT staff I also met up with a lot of highly motivated like minded photographers. As well as being presented with top notch buiness information regarding marketing and sales, we also had the opportunity of a days shoot in the company of Annabel Williams. I left feeling truly inspired and motivated. Money well spent.

Today I went to the lecture theatre at Chester Zoo to attend the "Visions of Light" seminar given by the extremely knowledgeable and highly entertaining wild life photographer Andy Rouse. For anyone who has not heard Andy and gets an opportunity to go and see him, then I can only encourage you to make every effort to go. You will not be disappointed, you will pick up some great tips and insights regarding wildlife photography and if nothing else you are guaranteed a good laugh. A brilliant photographer and a genuinely nice bloke.
